Kāhui Ako

A Community of Learning, or Kāhui Ako, is a group of education and training providers (early learning, schools | kura, and post-secondary) working together to help learners achieve their full potential.

The Whangaparāoa Peninsula Kāhui Ako is our Kāhui Ako. It is made up of a team of leaders and teachers from four schools across the peninsula - Gulf Harbour School, Stanmore Bay School, Whangaparaoa Primary and Whangaparaoa College.

We also have two Early Childhood Education representatives that work with us, who represent the Coast's many ECE providers.

Our achievement challenges (goals) are focused on improvement in Literacy, Numeracy and Cultural Responsiveness (refining and maintaining quality teacher practice).

Culturally Responsive Pedagogy

Strengths Based Framework (Mathematics)

Tiered Approach to Literacy

We believe that a focus on these three goals will help our students become better learners as they move through their schooling and into the workforce.
